You might try to clean the laser of your drive, or think about replacing your drive. That would also be connected to the flashing green light, since it indicated that your drive is trying to read a disk. There is also the possibility that your drive does not read the disk (try other ones) and therefore opens the tray. If there is a disc in the tray remove it. In general, for any optical drive, you want to check the following: If the eject button still doesn't work, your disc drive may need to be replaced." Remove any obstructions, and plug the console back in. Follow these instructions to remove the faceplate and manually eject the drive. It was dirt cheap ($3) when I did it a few years ago at a small shop.If your disc drive tray is stuck and will not open or close, then you have to manually eject the disc. Tl dr: You could try to get it resurfaced at a store. It wouldn't surprise me if it were the latter in this case because I think it was that console that we had problems with reading discs months later. When my friend took it and tried to play it he found that it was still stuck in the place where he got stuck at originally, so either they didn't fix it properly or his Xbox drive was a little iffy. Unfortunately, the first Assassin's Creed bored me to tears and so I did not play much further. I was borrowing a friend's AC and it stuck at one point so I took it in, they did it in a few minutes while I looked around the store, and it worked at least in that it got me past the point where I was stuck. There's a small not franchised buy and sell place that, at least three years ago, resurfaced them for $3. The only advice I can give you is check around and see if there's a store nearby that fixes them. I wouldn't count on Microsoft to give you a digital copy for free.
